'Berkshire and the War' was
published and printed by the Reading Standard in 1916. It
contains 1500 individual named photos of Berkshire
residents who were fighting at that time, it includes many
serving in other than the County regiments, such as The
Royal Flying Core and The Guards.
There are sections on Patriotic
families, Brothers in arms, and many group photos, mostly
only titled with the Battalion name. Also included are many pictures of
Reading during the war and its many patriotic
activities.
Lastly there are a number of eye
witness accounts of actions undertaken by The county
regiment, The Teritorials andThe Berkshire Yeomanry.
This index was compiled by Bill
Boyall to make the task of finding a relative more
simple.
